WHO WE ARE...
We are Jade - Marketing Consultant, Mother of Pearl Marketing and Sharon - founder of award-winning sustainable loungewear brand, HEXED.
HEXED Founder Sharon (and one half of The Frock Exchange), has almost 25 years experience in design and sourcing at major UK Blue chip fashion brands and retailers. Having travelled the globe with these companies throughout her career, Sharon has witnessed the fast fashion production cycle and the waste, low wages and constant pressure on suppliers to continually lower prices that is a result of it.
Marketing Consultant Jade (the other half of The Frock Exchange!) has 20 years brand marketing experience and spent over a decade within the media industry leading the marketing for well-known fashion and women’s lifestyle magazine brands including GRAZIA, Closer, heat and their brand extensions including radio, events and subscription boxes.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN...
It all started in late November 2022 over a few cups of coffee during a marketing power hour session for HEXED. It was during this session where we discussed the impact of the fast fashion cycle and how our consumption habits need to change for the sake of our planet and our purses, plus what with the higer rate of cost of living, people simply can’t afford to ‘shop til they drop’ anymore. We discovered that throughout our careers in the fashion and media industries we had always wanted to run a clothes swapping event to provide a more sustainable approach to how we consume, but work/life/covid had always got in the way… until now! We have combined our expertise and we have joined forces to bring The Frock Exchange to our local community.
OUR MISSION...
The Frock Exchange is here to bring like-minded women in the community together and introduce them to a fun, reformed, money saving way to shop providing them with a curated edit of pre-loved fashion within a fun and buzzing location whilst working together to reduce the environmental impact of fast fashion.
